Evaluation Activity three.

What kind of media Institution might distribute your media product and why?

Firstly looking at whats on at the cinema;
Most of the films showing at the cinema this month are action and adventure but this varies depending on what month you are in or what the latest biggest film is out. i.e in novemeber the new James bond film came out which is an action/adventure so most of the films showing are of this same genre.
Film Festivals;
There are a range of film festivals in the UK but one of the biggest is in London called BFI Film Institute. BFI is not just a comapny who brings festivals to places but it is in actual a fact a film institute supporting the production of a wide range of films such as James Bond.
 There is also a different type of film festival called Liff. Liff is a festival dedicated to films made by us, non known film directors giving us all a chance. There is a first and second prize and it is where thousands of people get together to enjoy other people hard work and efforts.
Independent Cineama's;

The biggest independent cinema office is  (ICO) and it is the national support organisation for independent exhibitors of all kinds including cinemas, film festivals and film societies.
Young film maker's competition;
The bbc hold whats called a Film network, now this is a page in which is dedicated to a page full of competitions in which you can enter for a film maker. Such as

48 Hour Film Challenge

A new meaning to 'short films'. Select a genre. Receive a character, prop and line of dialogue to appear in your film. The rest is up to you to decide- and to create and complete - in 48 hours!

Now looking at all of these i think that entering our film into a competition would distribute our media product as there are many you can enter, one's for first timers and our specific genre. I think that by going down the cometition route we as a group could have alot of fun with it and even maybe something get something bigger out of it and our names known to someone in the buissness of film making.

I think if we went for any of the other routes our film would be blown off as we are just first timers and probably have alot to learn in order for it to be on the big screen.

BUT

When are film does get on the big screen our media product will start in small cinema's and expand!
